Hopping on a Ski-Doo!

Posted by Sharkey

This past weekend, Franny, Ghenghis Khan, and I traveled with Martha and Uncle Carlos up to the beautiful state of Vermont.  Martha wanted to visit a place called Viking Nordic Center to learn about grooming trails for cross country skiing.  While she was having a lesson about that, Franny and I decided to go off and have some fun of our own.  We took off, with me at the helm of a Ski-Doo.  So very cool!

OK Mr. Rob MacGregor - I understand which is the throttle and which is the brake.

Hold on tight, Franny! Here we go!

I suppose we could ask Ghenghis Khan if he wants to go with us, but he seems to be enjoying himself in the snow.

What? No dogs allowed? That's some kind of cruel twist of fate! I guess we won't be seeing much of the Viking Nordic Center after all.

Since no dogs were allowed on the trails, we decided to pay this friendly group of people a visit.

They had a very cool eight-wheeled vehicle called an Argo. www.argoatv.com Franny, don't you just love the enormous treads on this thing? I bet we could travel just about anywhere.

Even Ghenghis Khan liked this six wheeled Argo. I have to admit, he is pretty cute. Right, Franny?

These kids were so nice to us - Robbie, Cory, Samantha, Maggie, Nick, and Mitchell. Thanks for making our visit so much fun!

  • Good Morning F & S and I guess we need to welcome GK as well.

Your new brother is a cutie but I have some concerns for the two of you. First, this boy is going to be big. Second, I suggest attacking the legs since there is so much fur you won't be able to get thru to the skin when you need to put him in his place. One good thing with the Labs is that when I bite they feel it. Ok maybe not so much because these little pins I have called teeth don't due much damage.

Your trip to Vermont looked really fun. I bet Martha will be driving one of those Argo's around the farm soon. You'll both have to show GK how to drive since you have so much experience. My mom said they look like a mini Snow Cat. She drove in those out in Vail, said it was really fun.

So tell me, how do you feel about the new addition to your home? Is he getting all the attention? Are you being snubbed because there is a new puppy in the house? I hope my mom doesn't bring anyone new into our house I'd be jealous, I'm the baby :)

    Have a nice day

    Zoe

  • my goodness, there you are again having fun with a neat sport...geepers you two pups are lucky? Francesca and Sharkey I must say your wardrobe is impressive!

mommie delia used to live in the highest Bavarian mountains in a village called Garmisch, you guys would love it their, like a fairytale setting, buildings with murals, baskets of flowers hanging off balcony's http://www.squidoo.com/GarmischGermany

how does your mommy Martha have time to do these things? always going some place with U.Carlos and you two sweet pups...what fun...

  • Hello Ladies,
What an adventure this one was for you both. I certainly admire you just for being out in the cold. As for myself, it is out and in with the snow days. But it looks like you girls have nice down jackets. Those are the best yet. Better than Mom's hand knit one. Can you let me know where this jacket in your winter wardrobe comes from? Also, I am concerned that this Ghenghis Khan pup might be trying to take center stage in your star category. You girls are getting him young, so you can begin to train and mold him in the image you desire. Be considerate, as he is you "little, big brother," and he will look to you for guidance. Loved your ski adventure weekend photos. Hope there was a nice cozy fire at the end of the day.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • ...a very spiffy Ski-Doo indeed, girls! You two'll be riding one of your very own around the farm before long - you know, helping to groom some of mommieMartha's trails. And those Argo's! - you guys could get your daily exercise routines in, just trotting on it's treads - it'd kinda be like a treadmill, if it were running in slow-mo' !

So you two are liking little Ghengis Khan, huh?!... You HAVE to admit that it's only because he's a little fellow-canine!...if he were a little fluffball of the feline sort, you'd be a little more discriminating, don't you think?! (hey, it's juuust a friendly observation, that's all...) He IS another little fluffiewuffie that mommieMartha has added to her collection, isn't he?!

Well, girls...ride on. Make sure you wear your little goggles for eye protection, ya' hear?!

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I’m so glad that Martha finally now has a “real” dog. Whoa there, I was just kidding you two. You are really dogs too. His pictures look just like mine when I was about that size. I know that he was really having a “blast” in that snow; know I would have. I’ve never been on any of that kind of transportation at all. I’ll be it was really fun. You looked like you were enjoying yourselves. Hope you stayed warm and didn’t get a cold from being in the cold. Just my attempt at a little humor there.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Francesca and Sharkey: The new puppy looks really cute, and fat and fluffy. Puppies are all that way I think. I bet he had lots of fun in the snow. I know I would.

It doesn't snow hardly at all here. It just gets very cold. My dad doesn't like extreme heat or cold, but he always takes me for my afternoon walks. I would love to play in the snow all day if I could, but momma wouldn't like that at all. She would let me play in it for a little while.

I think Ghenghis Khan would be a swell playmate for me. We could chase each other around all day and maybe all night too, with brief naps in between.

Speaking of naps, I think it's time for one. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Don't you two look way too cool on the Ski-Doo. I hope MommyMartha adds one or two to the vehicle collection on the farm. You two look like you were having a great time hanging out with everyone in Vermont.

Your new little brother Ghenghis Khan is quite the adorable little guy. He's just a baby so now is a perfect time to take him under your paws and teach him the way things are according to you two. It would also be a good idea to lay down the law of the land so lil' GK doesn't get any notion to "go rogue" on you two and take over. Just something to remind him that he's third in the line of succession.

  • Dear Francesca and Sharkey, It was SO lovely to meet you the other day when you stopped by Viking. I am very happy that Rob let you sit on the snowmobile. He really is very good about sharing. You look quite professional.

And, thank you so much for the lovely kisses you gave me. I will treasure them forever. You really are very special girls. I apologise for the pug reference, I know you are French Bulldogs, I think I was a little star struck. I appreciate your not holding that against me.

If you ever want to come back for another visit, let me know. We will be sure to have lots of piles of fresh snow for Genghis Kahn to play in and if you really want to go out and see the woods, I can make special arrangements for a little tour on a special trail. Abby & Bridgit the Viking Border Collies would love to show you all the fun spots to play.

It was very thoughtful of you to include us in your blog. We appreciate your taking the time to stop by for a visit.

    Cheers!

  • Hi Girl Friends & GK, Wow, that Ski-Doo and the six and eight wheel Argos sure were fun to look at and I'm sure you enjoyed riding on all of them. What a great place to visit even though it was cold with the snow! Too bad that dogs weren't allowed in the Nordic area, but I could tell you all three had fun anyway!!! Where are you going next?! Have fun no matter where you go. Love, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO
