Bath time with G.K

Posted by Sharkey

We Frenchies needed a bath the other day and, as you may know, we're not too keen on baths.  I can't tell you exactly why, but just the thought of getting one makes me shake like the dickens.  Anyway, Martha thought it would be a good idea to have G.K., the new pup, watch how things get done so he'll know what he's in for.  I don't mind G.K. very much - I think he's sweet.  Franny, on the other hand, needs to chill.  She hasn't been very nice.

Hey Sharkey, why are you shaking so much? Are you afraid of having a bath? Franny's having a bath now, so I guess you're next.

Franny, is it scary having a bath? You sure smell better now, so I guess it can't be all that bad.

What am I supposed to be telling this fluff ball? Why do I have to sit in this laundry basket with him?

I'll just hide under this towel and maybe he'll go away.

Well that didn't work, did it?

Uncle Carlos - get me out of here NOW! This is humiliating!

Don't worry G.K. - Let me work on Franny. She'll will warm up to you sooner or later.

  • Hi Francesca and Sharkey: WOW! I bet it will take a really long rinsing to get all the shampoo out of GK's fur. That's a lot of fur. Hope you two can train him on how to behave while getting a bath. My mom and dad no longer give me a bath in the tub, but they take me to PetSmart for a beauty spa treatment and I get my nails done too. Less work for them and more attention to me. The ladies at PetSmart grooming section think I'm really cool!

It's going to be a very cold and rainy weekend. My momma said that even the weatherman can't really say for sure if we're getting all rain or a mixture of sleet/rain or snow. Oh, well, she will get off early today and go to the WalMart for food and stuff cause the storm starts tonight.

Well, time to go and continue my early morning nap. Take care. See ya later. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hi Franny & Sharkey!

George and I are beagles that have a new puppy in the house too. Our Mom & Dad just adopted a 6 week old silky terrier. She weighs less than 2 pounds and looks like an Ewok from Star Wars. Mom & Dad named her Miss Peggy Pepper for the Dr Pepper ad that ran in the 40's. They went to Waco Texas to pick her up, so they thought the name fit.

We are quite scared of her and don't know what to think about her. Mom & Dad does not let her run loose with us because she is so small, but we are really confused on what to do. Do you have any suggetions?

George is telling me to say good night, so in closing:
    Good Night Gracie!

  • Hello Ladies,
Well it is almost the weekend. Mom said that Mama Martha had a repeat today, so maybe you will have some quality time with her this weekend. You gals are lucky to have those nice big tubs for your baths. I have to get in the shower with my folks. It is fun, but more likely to get water in ones majestic ears. We have to be careful. I didn't see wet fluff ball photos of Khan. How did he do? Franny, just remember what I have been telling you---that he will not always be little and cute like yourself, so chill, little lady. You and Sharkey are the queens, and he will be the protector of the house. Have a great weeekend all.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Just back from my walk. It’s so nice outside I didn’t want to come in. I guess I’ll just lay in the sun on the back porch for a while until the rain starts later on today. I hate the cold rain; sort of like taking a bath in cold water. I don’t like taking a bath just like you two. I’ll bet that GK won’t like baths either. That’s the way it is with most Chow Chows, they just want to stay dry. Went to the Dr’s yesterday and had my broken tooth looked at. She said that it was just the end and not down into the nerve. Mommy and daddy will be watching it to make sure it doesn’t get any worse; it shouldn’t. Time for a brushing and nap.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Good Morning F & S

I'm right there with ya I hate getting a bath in fact I hate everything about grooming. Why do we have to get baths and trim our nails anyway we're dogs for God's we're suppose to smell like a dog. My mom takes me to Jake's Dog House for my baths and if my skin is dry oil messages. Oh then they brush my teeth and of course I try to bite the tooth brush the entire time - YUK. And as I'm leaving they put a goofy scarf on me - I HATE IT!!!

Well your hairball brother is in for a rude awakening. Wait till he gets all that hair wet and has to sit under the blow dryer for days trying to dry that mess - HA! Just sit by and watch see how much he loves everyone after that ordeal ;)

F & S I guess you are both going to have to bite the bullet and be nice to G.K. It looks like he is there to stay so you might as well get use to it. Franny - cut the crap and be nice.

I'm starting to feel a little better today, mom is making me ground beef with rice which is yummy and I'm getting homemade beef broth because she knows that I'll drink that - something about keeping me hydrated. I'm being good and taking my pills she thinks I don't see them tucked in the meat but I'm no fool. I've been just laying around, haven't caused any fights with the Labs, things are very quite at our house. I need to get back to my devilish ways :)

It's so cold here today and the weekend isn't looking any better. I'll hang in the kitchen with mom, heard her say she is making homemade pasta Saturday. Maybe she'll put a few noodles in my beef stock :)

Well have a nice weekend everyone.

    Zoe

  • ...poor little furrieburries!...waiting in line to get their little baths...awww!...

Beautiful ones, I imagine your bathtime gets finished rather quickly, with your short hair-n-all... Can you imagine what it'll be like for little GK?!! All that thick lion-like fur?!! He'll prob'ly look as little as you two when HE gets all wet - how 'bout it?!!

I've missed you awnry two this week! - what've you been up to, pray tell?! Guess I'll just have to go back and play a little catch-up now, won't I?.

Well, girls, it's downright frigid again, isn't it?!...tell mommieMartha "oh, RUFF, no!" if more baths are in order during this oh-so-chilliewillie cold snap! We adoring fans wouldn't want you to catch your death-of-a cold!

    =^..^=

  • Francesca, is G.K. going to join the "The Daily Wag" staff? If so, you will have the valuable services of a junior assistant who can do everything you and Sharkey don't want to, get it? Is a bell ringing in your Frenchie brain? A bath isn't a big deal...so what if you have to share a basket with the little fuzz ball?
You and Sharkey can lounge while G.K. runs and fetches Mai Tai's and mops the floor! What a deal! Feel better?
Sharkey will be thrilled to be able to take longer naps! Have a nice weekend!

  • Sharkey that first photo of you and Ghengy is so funny. You're about to take a bath not being led away to the executioner's stand!

Francesca I think it's time to accept the reality of things and welcome GK into the family. Martha loves you all so much. It will make her so much happier to see you getting along with your little brother. Surely his adorable-ness (is that a word?) is beginning to melt your heart too?

Have a fun, safe, and warm weekend everyone!

  • Hi Franny, Sharkey and GK, we know how you feel about the bath thing, we don't like it either, however, it doesn't last long, so hang in there. Our parents are fostering two puppies for a week or two and they just got a bath too. We should all be thankful that we have someone who cares so much about us to bath and feed us and to have a wonderful place to stay.
    Take Care,
Brody and Zeke and the two puppies.

  • Our chow chow says hello to G.K - Can she come out
and play - My name is M&M'S GINGER GIRL PAZZAZZ and I
also am from Karen Tracy Breeder - So in a way we are
cousins- back to my Dental Bone - Chow for now

  • Hi Girl Friends & GK, I want you to know that I LOVE all three of you!!! And like I said before, I would sure love to play with all of you and with all of your kitties, too. Sharkey, you are very nice for being so kind to little GK and for helping Franny to do a better job of accepting him as your forever brother. Hopefully she will mellow out as time goes by. Love to all, Dudley Do Right XOXOXO+

  • Bathtime is tough for us around here at Lobos Manor. Loki barks the whole time, Lilith whines, and Dracula Mavis struggles. At least DM is a wee frenchie, so she's easy to handle.... not so much with the chows... At any rate, we were overwhelmed with cuteness looking at these photos. Ghengis, baths are a 'good thing'! Please try to enjoy getting pampered!

  • That must be the sweetest and cutest doggie bath photos I've seen. I had a Chowchow growing up, and now I have a brown Frenchie. My dream would be to have 2 Frenchie and a Chowchow. I guess G.K. has enough fluffy hair to balance out the short hair Frenchies :)
