A Trip With Martha To The Home Depot

Posted by Sharkey

This past weekend, Martha dressed us in our Lion Brand Yarn www.lionbrand.com sweaters and told Carlos to get the car ready for a road trip.  She wanted to drive to East Hampton to check on the house.  Of course, there were stops to make along the way, including one to The Home Depot.  We, Frenchies, love to shop and we love The Home Depot!

Martha had many errands to do on her way to East Hampton. One was to stop and shop at The Home Depot. There is a giant one in Valley Stream, Long Island.

Martha was extremely surprised and pleased to see a new display just as we entered the store. All those bottles looked familiar. It was the new line of MARTHA STEWART CLEAN!!

Let's count - wow there are ten different products for a cleaner and healthier home! Everything from dish liquid to laundry detergent and no scents, no bad ingredients, and the packaging is so cute!

I think we need some all purpose cleaner for the kitchen floor, right Frannie?

It says right here - Effective, Responsible, Safe! Let's get one of each, although I don't know why we, Frenchies, would ever use the toilet bowl cleaner.

Oh-oh - we were recognized very quickly and the sales associates all wanted photos. We were so happy to oblige even though Martha said she still had on her workout clothes.

There is a rule that dogs must travel through the store in a cart. We obliged happily - it was such a great vantage point. Martha got new hoses for the greenhouses and some flat pans for the geese feed.

Yawn - as usual, Sharkey got comfortable and almost dozed off, but I kept careful watch over the operations.

  • Oh My God!!!

What was with all the cats on Martha's show yesterday?? I'm sitting there watching with mom and now she is getting these crazy thoughts of getting a Coon Cat!. Thank you very much TV Producers. The last thing I want is a hairball taking my place on moms lap. It's bad enough I have to share her with the Labs now she is thinking CAT!!! I don't think so. When is the next Frenchie show going to be? I need some airtime, I'll allow another Frenchie but that is it, I'm going to have to put my paw down.

She was all happy this morning looking at your blog, she wears the same goofy socks and crocs as Martha. Dad looks at her like she is nuts if she leaves the house with them on. She has the same color as Martha with the fur but then she also has the Mario crocs that come in bright orange. She likes those the best because they have a tred on the bottom. I think she looks like Ronald McDonald but then what do I know.

Well I have to go find her and try to talk some sense into the woman, NO CATS.

  • Hello Ladies,
I loved seeing you shopping at Home Depot. I bet they wouldn't let me ride around in a shopping at our Home Depot. We have to have Dad get some of those new cleaning products. Not that I will use them, but I can supervize. I watched that dumb cat show on Martha Stewart yesterday with Mom. I kept waiting for you girls to make an entrance and be the stars. I still remember that election fixer, Vivaldi. He is not a cat, but a rat. Oh, Sonya, thanks for helping Mom with the advice for her sinuses. She has to go to the special nose doctor today. She had sinus surgery last May and is stil having a little trouble. I understand her because that is what I have to take medicine for all the time, my sinuses. It is supposed to be 60 degrees today, so Mom says no fire. That is the fun of cold and snow---that toasty fire. Well, loved the Home Depot adventure. Take care and have a great Tuesday all.!!!!

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
When we go to the Home Depot, I have to wait in the car. I’m too big to ride in one of those carts, although the ones which look like a car look really inviting. I almost had a heart attack yesterday. I was lazing around as usual, and all of a sudden I heard cats in the family room. I ran to find them; hoping that one was not on mommy’s lap. Thankfully I found them just on the TV. Those Maine Coon cats sure were big. Mommy told me about her father’s cat, Albert. She said he weighted 18 pounds and would run dogs out of the yard. She said that he almost was caught, by a big dog, one day. He told the dog to, “Speak to the paw.” For some reason that dog never came within 100 yards of the house after that.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • That's the one thing I like about HD they allow dogs in the store...grandogs Logan and Annie get to go in the store.
HD was kind enough to donate all the lumber and fixings when mommie was making one of the huge Mosaic Murals for the rescue of horses. Kudos for Home Depot!
Really cute pictures in the acrts of you two sweet pups.

  • Oh girls!...it's like I said over on mommieMartha's blog just moments ago - I'm SURE you two made someone's day, popping in unannounced in that neighborhood Home Depot store! There are m-a-n-y looks of delight on the faces of those around you!

Every dog has his day...it's true, you know... You two have been on mommieMartha's show manymany times, but don't you agree that it was generous of you to allow your other sisfurs-n-brofurs to be on the show yesterday?! Well, as you can imagine, I had the bestest time ever! I laughed, I doted, I talked right out loud saying 'look at you!', or 'look how beautiful you are!' (and on-n-onnn)... I just couldn't help my self! Our beautiful Mandy was on mommie's bed, and at e-v-e-r-y station break, I just had to go in and kiss her on the head and munch on her spotted little ears - I just couldn't help it! Your new little calicoed fluffiewuffies are growing nicely, and they're not looking so little anymore - prob'ly 'cause of all their fluffiefurriness. Even Bartok and Vivaldi got to come into the city! It was mrrrowy nice seeing them!

Well... Girls, it's nice that you're STILL being good ambassadors for mommieMartha as the new year begins. I'm sure 'evwybunnie' (as Mandy would say) at The Home Depot will remember your and mommieMartha's visit from over the weekend!

    =^..^=

  • Hi Girl Friends, I love this blog about your trip to Home Depot with Martha and Uncle Carlos. It looks like you two had a really fun time riding in the shopping cart through the store. I heard my Mom say that we were going to Home Depot in the next few days and I sure wish it was the one where you went so I could talk to you two beautiful girls. Maybe someday!! Love, Dudley Do Right xoxo

  • Hi. I'm Dulce. I'm a little(30 lbs) 5year old English Bulldog.
Mom reads your blog everyday and she often reads aloud to me and Hank. Hank is my brother. He's 3. We are adopted.

It gets over 100 degrees in the summer here. Our vets say we shouldn't be outside in weather over 80 so, we go to Home Depot many times during the summer to walk around inside.Sometimes we need salt for the water softener or Mom needs a new plant. We always make new friends there.
Mom is using a toolbox she bought there a the box for our (pet) first aid kit.

  • Franny and Sharkey,
Thank you so much for blogging about your recent trip to Home Depot, with Martha in tow.

The fact that Martha allowed you spunky ladies to photograph her in "socks and crocs" ...makes me realize that when I send my resume in to MSLO, I should put it to your attention!
