Watching a movie

Posted by Francesca

You may have heard Martha talking about how we, Frenchies, love watching movies.  Most of the time, we curl up in her bed and watch what she has on.  However, the other day, we were in our blog studio and opened a package that came in the mail.  At first, we thought it was a book called 'Aussie & Ted's Great Adventure.'  We soon realized, to our great delight, that it was a DVD, which we watched right away.  It was a sweet story about a lovable mutt who forms an unlikely bond with a Teddy Bear.  It was really funny and heartfelt.

What's this Franny? It looks like a book, but it doesn't seem to open like a book.

It has a title called 'Aussie & Ted's Great Adventure.' It appears to be a story about a bunch of dogs and a Teddy bear.

OK, so the outer sleeve came off, but now there's more wrapping! Opening this is kind of challenging.

This must be Ted. He's really cute. I hope Santa brings us Teddy bears this year.

Sharkey, go ring the kitchen and tell Martha to bring us some snacks. I don't want to miss a thing!

  • Good Morning F & S

Franny your bottom teeth are as bad as mine. For God's sake what's wrong with our mothers couldn't they tell that we needed orthodonic work as pups??? I don't think I have 2 teeth that line up - whats up that?? The Labs all think they are wonderful, nice shinny teeth all in a row, my teeth look like hell. I do have to say they are strong little suckers, I can chew everything.

The movie looked good, I'll have to check that one out. Don't you just love to cuddle up with mom and watch a movie - it's the best.

Well my mom has been up since 4 this morning, I was not happy about that at all. I was all snuggled in bed having a dream that I met the two of you and the next thing you know mom is out of bed, making coffee with the weather channel on. She is freaking out big time - snow is on the way. She is debating whether or not to cancel her Christmas party tomorrow night because we could get up to 20 inches of snow. People are not going to venture out in the snow so she is making herself crazy because she would have to let the caterer know this morning -that's if she even can cancel with them. I'm staying away from her, I think she is on her 4 cup of coffee and wound up already, it's only 5:20 - look out world.

Well I'm going to find dad and see if I can get back to my dream.

Have a great weekend F & S and all my blogger buddies. Just think this time next week Santa will be here :)

  • Hello Ladies,
That movie you watched looks like a really good one. I will put it in my Que right away. One I watched with Mom and Dad recently was really good, A Dog Named Christmas. You all have to watch it. My Mom is going a little ba-ner-co today. She put off her wrapping of presents and some blocking of knitting, and guess what? It all has to be done today. So Tasha and I are close by in case she needs us, but really staying our distance. You know what I mean? Mom and I have really been loving your Mama Martha's shows this month. They are the best yet with all the crafts and cooking. Mom and I think the set could have been a little more festive. But then we set up 3 trees in our house. Hope you all have a great weekend and by Monday we are calm little elves at this house.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • that certainly looks like great entertainment for the canine as yourselves, and Sharkey how intent you are watching, fancy pants Francesca checking out the good looks of Aussie...very cute. Wish they had feline movies, guess we are not important enough...although I like curling up on my mommie delia's lap when she draws/paints, always having on the TCM channel watching or listing to old movies.
Everyone here on this blog and at MS's, have a great and safe weekend!

  • Hi Sweeties,
Wow, Franny, Martha wasn't kidding when she said you actually watch whole movies! You're really craning your little neck in picture #10 so you don't miss anything! No doubt curling up in bed and taking in a movie is more comfortable but I imagine you will watch just about anywhere. I'm gonna have to look into that movie because animals stories are the best. Do you think Martha will get the new chipmunk movie for you or do you only get to see doggy movies? You two are the cutest! Be good.

  • I must've missed the story about how you acquired that fancy iMac. What were the terms of the contract, or is there a mandate of nondisclosure? Pretty cool. You even have Martha on call to bring you snacks! How good is that? I can tell from your DVD-opening exploit that you have top-notch dental care, so you must have canine care insurance. You girls have it made! Merry Christmas!

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I’m not much into watching movies; I just like to listen to them. I usually lay on the floor and just let my ears inspire my imitation. That way I can take a short nap and nobody knows that I did. Your statement, “Go ring the kitchen and tell Martha to bring us some snacks,” sort of sounds like something I would say. I’ll bet it works just as good for you as it does for me; not. I do get a large spoon full of ice cream each evening at around 8 PM. No matter how much I beg, I have to wait until 8. It’s a very cold morning with lots of rain. Hope it quits today and we have a good weekend.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi Francesca and Sharkey: I love to watch movies. Looks like you knew how to start the movie up. Now that my loveseat has been moved for the Christmas tree, I can see the TV better. My momma bought a wide screen TV last year for Christmas. It is really fun. Did you enjoy the movie? I hope so.

Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow - Hope your mom is feeling better today. All of us hope so.

Hey Zoe - Hope you get everything you want for Christmas.

It's really, really cold today. I feel kind of bad for daddy cause he always walks me after he gets home from work. He has plenty of warm coats and a down jacket and vest so it's not so bad for him.

I think it's time for a snack and a nap. Take care and see ya next week. Love, Gracyn.

  • Hi Girl Friends, This sure was a fun blog about you two watching a movie. I've never done that before, but maybe I will try it sometime. How are you doing after that big snow storm over there in your area?! How much snow did you get? I'll bet it was more than a foot deep. We are back in spring like weather here and it was even 57 degrees today! Take care and stay warm. Love Dudley Do Right xoxo

  • (this post was written on Fri, Dec 18th but wasn't accepted after several attempts:)

...'go ring the kitchen'!...you girls are a mess!

Franniebrindle, if your little face gets any more beautiful-er (I know - that's not a real word!), I don't know what I'm going to do! Chewing the edge of the dvd jacket (to me) didn't make you any less adorable, either! I noticed, too, that little Sharkeybarkey had to engage her nails a little, in removing the actual dvd - I'm used to Mandy's claws. As you can imagine, yes, my beautiful and sometimes awnry little spotted girl knows juuust how to effectively use those little lethal weapons of hers! She's a little mess, too - just like you two girls! - a w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l mess, though...just for the record.

Well, everybody...Santa Paws'll soon be on his way!...hope everyone's behavin' like they should! My Mandy mrrrowed to Santa Paws for mommie to just open the back door and let her out WITHOUT her little harness on, so she could 'wun fwee'. I told her that we'd see. (Please don't tell on me but, see, I'm thinking that maybe I can just take the leash portion OFF her harness and that'll be MY way of letting her be free. As long as her harness is on, she doesn't know the difference. Shhh!)

A Mrrrowy Christmas to every little anipal here on TheDailyWag!
