Let sleeping cats lie

Posted by Francesca

Do you remember hearing about the new calico Persian kittens that came to live with us?  Sharkey and I don't get to see them too often, as they still like to hide.
However, the other day, we finally came across the one called Empress Tang and thought that maybe we could play together.
No way that was going to happen.  Take a look at these pictures.

Oh, it's Francesca and Sharkey - you two woke me up from a very nice cat nap.

You will see that I have some very serious looking teeth! Get the point?

You better think twice - it's best to let sleeping cats lie.

  • I have been waiting for updates on the 2 new ladies. They are breathtaking!!! I would love to see more of all the cats, maybe they could have a blog of their own??????

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
Oh my, in my eight years I have never been that close to a cat. They usually run when I get closer than ten feet. Now that I know that they have teeth, I’ll be a little more careful around those critters. Come to think of it, why shouldn’t they have teeth? Never gave it a thought. I’ll bet squirrels have teeth too. Hum, makes one stop and think. Thanks for the “heads up” on those cats.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • OMG!!!!! these photos are too cute! now that is a face true love will claim...Empress Tang seems to have grown..beware Francesca and Sharkey, NOT all cats like to play with pups like you...hope to see updates on the rest of the new kitty's soon...meeuw from "Kitty" a fan of Martha's feline collection.

  • Hi Princess Tang,

this is Princessa Bella. I am a 5 year old black persian and I have a 4 month old standard poodle pup named Finnegan to train, so I know exactly what you are going through with Franny & Sharkey!

keep up the good work! Cats Rule!!!

    love, PB

  • Hello Ladies,
Yes, I suppose it is better to let sleeping cats lie, especially since she is now part of the family. Let's just hope Vivaldi doesn't get near her to train her in his dirty, cheating ways. She is a pretty little kitten as cats go, I guess. How are you Sharkey? I didn't see you at Aunt Alexis's getting your paws washed or on television with Franny. Mama Martha wouldn't be playing favorites would she? I love to see you both. Have a great weekend everyone. I am going back in front of the nice warm fire. Take care.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Yuck. Mom thinks Empress Tang is bee-yoo-tee-ful, and I think she is just another ugly puss! What choppers on that feline fuzz, too! Is Martha trying to keep you in line, or what? Yuck, cats, ptew....

  • Hi Empress Tang,
My mom showed me your picture and I think you are the Cat's Meoww. I am a 7 year old guy and my name is Handsome, and I am. Keep up the good work with those others in your abode. Remember, Cat's Rule! If only the rest of the world realized that!
    Lovingly,
    Handsome

  • Well, girls, I have to say that I am VERY pleased with everyone's responses today. I truly expected some cat-bashing against my beloved kittiekitties' species, but I'm reading at least some toleration for the feline fuzziefuzzies (that was cute, Malcolm!) if not utter delight.

You see, Franniebrindle (Sharkeybarkey, too), little kittiekitties like Empress Tang and Princess Peony - gee whiz, Vivaldi and his brothers, too! - prefer quiet places, so they can take their nappies and ponder, basically - well, the things that they ponder. They need to feel secure and become 'fraideycats when things seem to upset their little worlds. You two like to runrunrun and upset the apple cart, so to speak - well, that goes for Sharkeybarkey, mostly. The kittiekittie in general likes to be quiet for the most part...now, don't get me wrong...they have playtime, too, and if they go outside, they usually like to keep their hunting skills honed and sharp - stuff like that (" 'tuff wike dat", as my Mandy would say)...

As long as you two respect your other brofurs and sisfurs, then I think mommieMartha will DEFINITELY have a happy household!

    =^..^=

(ps> Malcom, I LOVED the 'ptew'! - it was priceless! Superb phonetics!)

  • Hi Girl Friends, I am so happy to see that you, Franny, didn't do any more that look at little Empress Tang this time. It makes me think that you are learning how to behave around cats and that you might only get closer to any of the cats when they tell you it is okay. It seems that they like to rule the roost and you may be learning to accept that. You will have a lot more fun if you follow their rules. Have fun. Love, Dudley Do Right xoxo

  • Priceless !
