Washing the windows

Posted by Francesca

The other day, we were watching Gyurme, one of the Sherpas, who works at the farm.  He was busy taking down the screens and replacing them with storm windows, but he seemed to be moving a bit slowly.  We asked if something was wrong and he told us that after eating a big lunch, he also ate rich cupcakes - too many of them.  He didn't feel much like bending down and we Frenchies, saw that Gyurme needed our assistance.

Alright Gyurme - because your belly is too full to bend down, we'll help you wash the lower parts of the windows.

OK Gyurme - all set for you to wash the top part.

I'll just squirt a little of this Martha Stewart Clean glass & mirror cleaner. I've heard it does a really good job without harmful chemicals.

With all the sun glare, it's a little difficult to tell if I removed all the streaks.

Sharkey, you missed a little spot right here.

Washing windows - YUK. I'd rather sit and watch Gyurme do the work. Mom has a man come to our house to do that twice a year I'm going to suggest Martha's window cleaning product the next time he shows up.

I'm sorry I didn't write in yesterday I was too depressed about my Phillies. I'm sure Martha had a big smile on her face are you both Yankee fans as well?

It's freezing down in South Jersey this morning, mom had to carry me out I wasn't about to leave the warm house. I'll venture out later in the day when the sun is out.

I'm happy the weekend is here, lots of time with mom plus no rain is in the forecast :)

    Have a nice weekend everyone.

  • now there you go! what ambitious pups to help a belly full of cupcakes Gyurme! Francesca and Sharkey you are such helpful pups...surely you must feel good...now, can you come and help with my doors and windows? Kitty said, No Way even Think I'm going to do windows.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
All I can say about you two is, “I don’t do windows.” In fact I do just the opposite to them. I make them dirty with my nose prints. Keeps mama busy cleaning them just so I can mess them up again. Well, I’m not that bad, usually they stay clean for about two days before my nose touches them again. We have an increasing problem, in our area, of home invasions. People are putting up “beware of the dog” signs even when they don’t have a dog. Daddy says that maybe they will see the big nose prints and move along. I think that he just doesn’t want to clean the windows and uses that for an excuse. Smart daddy?
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hello Ladies,
You two are the best, helping wash the windows. Where is that fur ball, election riger, Vivaldi now, when work is to be done--nowhere to be found I bet? Mom is starting on my sweater today. You know, the one like your's that you directed her to get the pattern. That was soooo nice of you to help her out. Now she is going nuts trying to find where Martha's sweater she wore yesterday in the cheese show was from, as at the end she couldn't catch who supplied the clothing. I bet you girls have big adventures planned for the weekend. We are just raking leaves--that 28 inches of snow from last week is all melted, supposed to be 70 today. That's Colorado for you Mom says. Have a good weekend all.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • You two never fail to make me laugh. Frannie that picture of you washing the window is especially funny. Sharkey, I'm staying away from you when you have the window cleaner.

Everyone have a fun and safe weekend!

  • I'll pencil in Fran and Sharkey to tackle my windows next week.

I am such a big fan of your Daily Wag.

It brings a smile to my face every day.

I tried to interest my cat Muffy Van Pelt to wash some windows.

She looked at me like I was nuts!

    Have a super weekend.....

  • ...No wet nose prints or slobbery flews on the freshly-washed window sashes, girls...ya' hear?!

    =^..^=

  • Hi Sweeties,
I know just how Gyurme felt with trying to bend over with a full belly so it was sweet of you gals to get the low spots for him! Franny, you sure put a lot of elbow grease in, (wait, do you have elbows?) to make sure there were no spots and Sharkey, you're a quick draw with a nozzle! So, the stuff cleans great, huh? Well I saw all of those new products over on Amazon.com and I'm fixin' to get some of the Martha Stewart Clean Laundry Detergent. It’s available on Tuesday, November 10th so I’ll be getting my order in real soon, maybe this weekend! The label indicates it is 99% plant and mineral based and that sounds like a real good thing to me. I’ll catch you sweetie pies later!

  • Hi Girl Friends, You sure look like you are having fun helping Gyurme wash the windows. I've never tried that job before so I'm not sure I would like to do it. Maybe I will try it next time it's not raining here. I help Mom prune trees, rake leaves, cut up and split firewood, as well as clean the parts of the yard that I use for doing my business. There is always something to do outside and I love to help Mom. Have a nice weekend. Love, Dudley Do Right xoxo

  • Dear Francesca, My dog Grizzy tries to help me when I wash the windows & do other chores but he's still working on his technique. He likes to run away with the cleaning cloths & bark at the spray bottle. I've been trying to teach him to help instead of hinder...My other dog, Kya, prefers to nap at chore-time. Keep up the good work!!! xoxo p.s. Do you & Sharkey get an allowance?
