Driving with Martha around the farm

Posted by Francesca

Martha is always working so hard and Francesca and I were elated to find her home last Friday morning.  It was such a beautiful day and she told us that we were going for a drive around the farm.  We always like to hear that news so we found the Kawasaki and waited patiently while she made her morning cappuccino.

At the vegetable garden, Martha turned left and headed down the road flanked by pin oaks. The equipment barn is to the right.

It rained last night and there is a field of mud at the gigantic compost piles. I don't think we'll get out and walk. Martha had to put the Kawasaki in low gear.

Mike, make sure you write down everything that Martha says. There's a lot of work for the crew to get done.

  • Good Morning F & S

What a great way to start your morning with a drive around the farm with your mom, sounds like heaven.
I hope you both wear seat belts when in the Kawasaki I wouldn't want either of you to get hurt.

We had a beautiful weekend here in South Jersey, spent lots of time with mom and dad and of course the other 3 monsters. I caused us all to get a time out on Sunday, I started running around the house playing chase me and the others joined in. The big guys knocked a few things over and we were all out of control, next thing you know mom yelled TIME OUT and we were all in our crates for a nap. I have to admit I started all the fun :)

Only a few days till Thanksgiving I can't wait. I hear Martha is going over her daughters for Thanksgiving dinner, did you both get an invite as well?????

  • Hello Ladies,
Riding in the Kawasaki with Mama Martha and then chasing squirrels, what a great start to the day. I myself would have enjoyed the cappucino also. I am a big coffee fan, but only get it when Mom leaves the room and I sneak a bit from her cup. We are busy getting ready for Thanksgiving around here--yum, and double yum!! Also, Dad put up the Christmas lights outside this weekend--new LED. The official lighting will be on Thanksgiving. Have a great Monday all.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • Francesca and Sharkey, all I can say is "I can only DREAM to have a place like where you two pups and Martha live"! Lucky, lucky you that mommie Martha worked so hard all these years to accomplish this and enjoy life with such beauty.
I really enjoyed viewing all the great shared photos...ahhh yes, Kitty also wished she could roam on land like that...

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
It’s good to see we have something in common besides being dogs. I love to ride too. Mommy has been taking me with her when she goes to the store lately. It’s cool enough for me to stay in the car. Not a good weekend for me. Didn’t get to go walking because of the rain. It’s still raining a little this morning; drat it, can’t walk again today. Daddy said that maybe we can go this afternoon when it stops. Until then, I think I’ll just nap.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • Hi gals,
Loved the tour of the farm, I could go around and round there a few times a day and smell everything for hours. My Mama doesn't own a farm but we have a nice neighborhood where there are many trees and lots of great smells and we have squirrels and foxes and all sorts of little critters running about it is all quite exciting for me.

I hope you and your Mama have a most happy & safe Thanksgiving.
We plan a quiet one here at home this year.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here at The Daily Wag. Gobble gobble!

    Have fun,

    Mrs. Bosley Chow Chow

  • All I see are ears, from my vantage point in sitting in the back seat! It's all good, though - I just so happen to love you girls' ears AND my Mandy's! If you'd let me like SHE lets me, I'd nibble and munch on them - it's just a favorite thing I like to do.

I KNOW you two were up for this little outing, as that what you puppiedoggies like. My little Mandy girl is turning into a puppiedoggie her own little self! She BEGS to go outside, while sitting at the closed door, trying to use her mental telepathies to have it open up before her. She's been carrying her little harness in her mouth, in an effort to try to bring it to mommie (me) with hints that are so obvious that I just have to give in. She has become my little fresh-air cat - kind of similar to you two girls, I'd say.

I'm glad mommieMartha was home on Friday to spend some time with you, so you could ride around your compound in your Kawasaki (aka 'Kasawaki' - we know who says that!).

This is going to be a busy week, girls...are you helping mommieMartha with the Thanksgiving preparations?! Many helping paws make quick work, you know! Also, sitting up on the kitchen stool simply lending companionship and moral support is a tremendous help, too! (How can I forget?!)...um, keeping the kitchen floor cleaned up of any (unsightly) crumbs is a BIG help, too! I KNOW you'll be of assistance in this category without any coaching!

Well, girls, it's dark as I'm writing this... Have a cozy evening in your favorite little doggiebed (it's a chilly rainy nite here). If mommieMartha is free this evening, make sure you get some lapsitting time in, okay? She might get a little chilly, too!

'Til the morrow, beautiful little ones,

    =^..^=

  • Hi Girl Friends, Oh, how lucky you are to have such a beautiful place to live! I love these photos of your fun trip with Martha and Mike all around that wonderful farm. The weather looked really nice that day. I sure wish I lived there with you. Our weather here has been wet, windy and cold for most of this month. On Sunday, the sun came out for a few hours so my MOM took me for a nice long walk. It was so much fun even though the wind was wild. Take care. Love, Dudley Do Right xoxo
