Hairy balls and more flowers

Posted by Francesca

We Frenchies really love flowers so the other day, we trotted down to Martha's cutting garden to see what was blooming.  There were many lovelyl blossoms to enjoy.  It was also a very beautiful day and the bright blue sky made everything look so gorgeous.

They don't call these sunflowers for nothing - they're blindly bright!

These little marigolds smell kind of spicy.

You have to be careful with these things because they have a very sticky sap.

Martha told us about how monarch butterflies travel thousands of miles to Mexico. I guess this one is tanking up for the journey.

  • F & S - please be careful when visiting the flower garden. Those bee stings can hurt. They are all beautiful flowers.

So I was reading your moms blog this morning, I see you have 2 new hairballs to play with. They sure are cute little things. Does Martha let you play with them? Make sure you are gentle since they are still little kittens. Once they put a little meat on them you can start to rough them up.

Well my day today is going to be laying out in the sun relaxing and watching my dad get the pool ready to close. The leaves are all starting to fall so it's time to close the pool.

    Enjoy your day.

  • Wow, Sharkey!
The photo of you enjoying the pink dahlias should be a magazine cover!
I would love that photo for note cards. Where can I get some?
Actually, I think most of the photos of you and Fran should be sold as blank note cards. If you ever decide to have a card line, please give the info to your bloggers.
I enjoy reading your blog ...I don't write much but I'm an avid reader and my favorite is the photo contest.

  • Hello Ladies,
What beauuuuuutiful photographs. You are both the most lovely models and with the pretty flowers of Martha's, you make a great team. I agree with Gloria, you should have your own card line. I am keeping warm today as we here in Lakewood, Colorado are supposed to get a light snow and more on the weekend. MY Mom loves snow. I like it as long as I just look out at it and don't have to walk in it. BRRRRRRRRRR! Have a great day.

  • Hello ladies, Kirby here.
I really did like your photo with the sunflower. While traveling through western Canada, I saw some sunflower fields. They went on for miles. There much have been millions of them; if I could count that far. At least that’s what daddy said about them. And you know what? Everyone of them were looking towards the road just to watch me pass by. Wow, millions of fans! It’s rest time after my walk.
    Catch you later, Kirby.

  • I loooove the photos of you two pups smelling those gorgeous flowers! what great shots! the photos with your eyes closed are so endearing...I just want to smooch you guys!

  • Hi Sweeties,
"Tanking up for the journey" was pretty funny, Franny. I enjoy your sense of humor! I also loved seeing Martha's zinnias - she has so many of them. I didn't plant any this year but I like them a lot so maybe next year. I better jot that down on my calendar or I might forget. Your squinty-eye poses look so cute - looks like the two of you had a nice time out in the sun the day these pictures were taken. Thanks for sharing!

  • Hi Francesca, I love flowers too and I like to eat dandelions when they go to seed. The family encourags me, but I don't think that I'll be able to rid the grass of them on my own. If you and Sharkey ever want to help next Spring I'll give you my addy.

  • Hi Girl Frienda, Wow, those sure are beautiful flowers you girls were looking at today. I don't think I have ever seen some of them. We have some beauties in our gardens, too. I have to be careful when I am around some plants because Mom always says "don't eat anything on the ground". If I pick something up, she will always take it right out of my mouth. Mom knows best! Love, Dudley Do Right xoxo
