Dining al fresco

Posted by Sharkey

Martha likes to reward us for our good behavior.  Sometimes it's a new toy or a special treat.  And sometimes we get served a nice luncheon.  We must admit that dining al fresco is one of our favorite ways to eat.

  • Who says it isn't a dogs life girlfriends!

I would expect nothing less from Martha's "girls" or Mama's "girls", wow what a nice gift to you. I heard my human Mama mumble just now that she wants to be Martha's human adopted "girl" too>

Glad you get some special treats maybe next a doggie massage perhaps? I hope you enjoyed your lunch you do work hard. It isn't easy posing for pix just the way they want them is it?

I hope your Mama includes you "girls" in her new animation project Little Martha you are her side kicks Little Fran and Little Sharkey and their adventures together at least she might consider a few guest appearances from her"girls" How fun that would be, I hope so, whisper it in her ear tonight at bedtime aye!

Happy weekend. Stay cool & well.

    Until next time,chow~

  • F & S - the food looks YUMMY!! What a nice treat eating at the table with wonderful food. I'm surprised you both didn't dress for the occasion. A pretty sun dress would have looked lovely. Did Martha join you for lunch?

I'm so happy it's Friday I'll get to spend lots of time with mom over the weekend. I heard her ordering hardshell crabs yesterday. Those things scare me!! Mom lifts the lid of the basket and they start running all over the place. Last time one almost got me so I have to sit on a chair while she cooks them. With all those crabs she ordered I'm sure we'll have a house full of people Saturday picking at crabs. I'm happy, all the kids will be coming - they love to play ball.

Well have a good weekend Franny and Sharkey. Hope you get to spend time with your mom.

  • I agree that the steak tartare is probably tastier than squirrel or skunk tartare. I think my cat brother, Desi, dines al fresco at least once a month, but not at a table on a porch (if you get my drift). I think he likes bird tartare on an occasional basis. Personally, I like venison jerky imported from New Zealand - a nice mound of it presented beautifully on a white china plate suffices to provide an elegant breakfast. I prefer it on a nice tray in bed, as compared to al fresco. Do you know the Italian term for dining in bed? Let me know.

  • Hi Girls!

How nice that Martha thinks to do such sweet things for you! She's the queen of everything, Oui?

And Franny, you ought to feel 'special', you are! You, too, Sharkey! And *both* of your table manners are well observed! The Emily Post book paid off, huh? :)

PS. Where's the blueberry wine? A little thrill on the hill couldn't hurt...

  • Hello Friends,

What a lovely thing Martha did for the both of you! I couldn't agree with you two more that dining al fresco is a wonderful way to eat. I love when my family has barbeques and we all eat outside, too. After a long week at the office, I'm sure you both enjoyed such a relaxing and spectacular meal.

As a regular reader of the Daily Wag, I truly appreciate how spectacular and talented Martha is. My Mom says Martha is her idol and she is always making recipes and crafts she gets from Martha's website and television show. I'm going to show her the picture of you two sitting at that lovely table and suggest she serve me up a special al fresco dinner this weekend as well. I have, afterall, been a very good boy this week.

Enjoy your weekend ladies. I will talk to you on Monday.

    XO,

    Fisher Jimmy

  • Hi Sweeties,
I didn't even get the first sentence of your blog read before I started laughing. That was due to me getting a glimpse of you two sitting at that little table with plates in front of you. Very funny, even though the title of this post was Dining Al Fresco and I should have been prepared! I was kind of expecting to see a doggy dish out in the grass or on the walkway though. Not that you don't deserve to sit up there at the little table but I think you get my drift! That looks like a typical yet special meal you would enjoy and you probably did, right? Have a nice weekend.

Oh, wook at the two of you, dining in style - alfwesco-n-all... Mommie says dat you two is just pwecious (next to me 'n my sisfur Mandy's pweciousness, of course!) • Two little cuties who want to see the world.
Couple of pals with their freedom to unfurl.
Check those puggy grins, sometimes a shy look.
They're off to see the wizard, going by the book.
Wouldn't trade their MnM for all the tea in China.
When the Boss says they're good, nothing is finer.
Lots of bloggy friends, they are such a lucky pair.
Good wishes come in buckets, bloggies really care.
So,while cuties live in harmony, other doggies drool.
MnM isn't far away and keeps the glass half full.

  • To Celia from Shoeboy;

Hi there! I really love your little piece of prose! I'm sure S&F do too.

Just one question; is it fine or not fine to have harmonious drool? 'Cause I think I do! Especially when I see meatballs 'To To's' next to Franny's toe toes! Hee hee! (I know it's 'ta tare' but reminds me of beach tar...bad on de paws!)

Keep it up CS, love your poem!

    Have a good weekend everyone!

Hi Edgar!...dream a little dream Darling...

  • Wow ladies what a feast!!! You two are certainly living the life. But I must agree that you both deserve it with all those photo shoots and modeling trips. Girls always need a little "me" time, and after a hard day of picking blueberries yesterday it was a must. Have a great weekend.
    Love & licks,
    Basil

  • WOW you pups have it made! again great photos!

  • Hi Girl Friends, Sorry I haven't commented for a while. I've been following your blog with my Mom but haven't been commenting because like Franny I've been trying to get over an infection. I had a urinary tract infection and had to take pills two times a day. Yuck! Now I feel better. I love your special lunch your Mom made for you. Yummy! Why don't we have a special party?! My Mom says I'm a good boy. We could have lots of fun playing and eating that delicious food. Love, Dudley Do Right xoxo
